Don't Put Limits On God
I named my Substack page Endless Possibilities because one, it was God’s idea, and two, because he knows I know, that’s what’s possible with God. And since I’m on a quest to reach my maximum potential through faith, I felt it might help to share what I’ve learned about the God of endless possibilities.
Scriptures give us numerous clues to what it takes to align ourselves with God’s greatness, so that we can receive our inheritance. That’s because God expects us to seek him out, not just blindly follow the loudest earthly voices. Isaiah 45:15(NIV) “Truly you are a God who hides himself, O God of Israel, the savior.” Let’s review some perfect examples where ordinary people, experienced extraordinary miracles by trusting in Luke 1:37 (NIV) “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
If you’ve never received a miracle, it’s probably because you didn’t ask for one, or you didn’t recognize that something good that happened was actually a blessing from God. We’re told right here in James that we pray in faith, not in doubt. James 1:6(NIV) “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”
The best advice I ever received was from a coworker who was a part time minister. He said when children want or need something they go to their father. As adults, we have the same privilege with God. When we need or want something we go to God our father. I desperately needed a financial miracle during my first marriage. I got it in a way that I never knew was possible, because God arranged that for me, and because I asked and believed.
I needed to win custody of my daughters, and based on bad legal advice, I was losing, but I kept my faith in God and he worked it all out for me. Matthew 19:26 With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,” underscoring that God’s capabilities transcend human limitations.
In 2004 I was sick and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. My friend was a nurse and she said I had all the signs of cancer. I quietly asked God to make it something that was easy to fix. It turned out to be my gall bladder and they removed it. When we go to God first, before anyone else, he will honor our faith and trust in him, because that’s what scriptures tells us he expects from his kids. Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” emphasizes God’s power to exceed human expectations. I didn’t have to accept the medical opinion, I simply had to ask my Father for help and he handled it for me, in the way I asked. But many people stop believing when it doesn’t happen right away, but that is also addressed in scripture. James 1:3 (NIV) “because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” I know from experience that there are situations we will face where perseverance is required.
Tara Mosley is a woman who wrote the book called Declarations In The Desert. Her husband was very ill in the hospital and she was told he was going to die. She didn’t accept what they said, she grabbed the Bible and through the night she declared and decreed that her husband was going to get well. He made a full recovery and is alive and well today, and she wrote a book, describing her strategy, to help others. James 5:16 (ESV) “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
My husband once said: “we’ve been programmed to believe if it’s too good to be true, it usually is.” That fits with the following scriptural story of a woman who touched Jesus’s cloak and he felt power leave. The story is in Matthew 9:21(NIV) She said to herself, “If I only touch His cloak I will be healed.” And Jesus recognizing her faith declared: “Take heart daughter; your faith has healed you.” Matthew 9:22(NIV).
Watching people suffer needlessly because they trust in man made systems is one of the most frustrating things for me. It’s the driving force behind my writing, because people are struggling and suffering needlessly because the god of this world (satan) has convinced people that God, the one who created you, doesn’t care about us. Despite numerous Scripture saying otherwise, people don’t really trust that God wants to give them the desires of their hearts as told in Psalm 37:4 (NIV) “Delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Don’t let the enemy convince you of what scriptures clearly outline for us. Every negative, ugly and scary thought or situation, is from Satan the father of all lies. John 10:10(NIV) “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Stop believing a liar and start believing in the God that is sharing himself in Scriptures, while waiting for his children to turn to him for blessing. It’s all through Scriptures, how God our Father is just waiting for us to connect with him for what we want and need. You need to know you deserve it, and you need to earnestly seek it, but it’s worth the journey. It’s wise to trust in the one who made you for more, than this world makes us think is possible.
But don’t be fooled into thinking it’s automatic, because it’s not. We have grace and mercy, yes, but Scriptures are clear on it being our choice. Reread that Isaiah scripture I used in my first paragraph. God hides and wants his children to seek him out, because when you seek him, he knows you are serious. The enemy convinced us we’re entitled to things in life but we’re only entitled to what we work for. And when we work for anything, it makes us appreciate it more.
About four years ago I went to see a semi famous evangelist speaking at a church in Naples Florida. While waiting for him to speak there was a movie projector screen playing a song called Believe For It. As the words came across the screen, I felt an awakening within my spirit, that has only since increased. These are the words that awakened my soul, and lit it on fire for God.
There is power in your name
so much power in your name.
Move the immovable,
break the unbreakable,
God we believe, God we believe for it.
From the impossible,
we’ll see a miracle,
God we believe,
God we believe for it.
You are the way,
when there seems to be no way.
It’s up to you
Lord you have the final say.”
God has the final say, not Satan the god of this world. God has the final say on every single thing that affects our ability to live in peace, health and prosperity. Start looking for God in everyday life and trusting him FIRST and then watch him... Move the immovable, break the unbreakable, and have the final say of miraculous blessings that you are now going to believe for.
