We are called to test things (people, places, teaching, ect) back in the 80s as a new Christian I got to hear about a few Chinese Christian leaders who made it out of China. Being cut off from the rest of the body for generations the question was asked of them, "What was the single most destructive doctrine to your people?" What they answered was the teaching of the rapture. When the communists arrived in the cities, millions of believers died because they were expecting to be taken before trouble came. This for me became strike one against this theory. Now many people fully believe the Tribulation has started, if it has, then the theory of pre-trib is in the toilet and has already gone down the drain. This leaves a mid-trib, and I am not holding my breath. It is far, far better to be a "prepper" and prepare than to mindlessly pretend everything will be ok
I was raised Catholic and never heard of the Rapture until my 30's. James Perloff was an excellent resource for my article. I wrote a book that I finally got uploaded to Kindle and just got the notice it's live... then I'm going to attempt two articles on the End Times. I'm working off my prophetic teacher and a book called Victorious Eschatology and the Matthew scripture. I love the way you disect the truth in a basic way. I feel compelled to focus on the good news of God, but your work is gripping and just as important. I'm reading all your content and look forward to reading your stuff!!
I am glad you like it, I work to try and make things as simple as possible. If you would like send me your address to Rfoster@Breadstonepublishing.com and I will send you a free book that is very similar to what you are reading.
Yes. Strictly speaking the tribulation started when Revelation was written although as to great tribulation perhaps one might argue a later occurrence.
Certainly I think we can say there has been a Greta Tribulation though!
Very articulately presented . Very encouraging. I always felt something was a bit “off” with the whole Rapture thing and the AntiChrist dominating the world after believers escape the seven year tribulation. It seemed odd that believers were so powerless that they couldn’t possibly overcome one big nasty guy, so Jesus has to come and pull us out.
Hey Deb — Thought I’d visit your ‘stack after so many great comms on the Badlands Brief.
It was also sort of a litmus test: Is she dispensationalist? Well, I have found few pieces that articulate so well the story as this succinct and beautifully laid out piece. I even learned details I hadn’t run across in my own studies on christian zionism & in the Bible. You tied some dangling threads together for me too. It’s vitally important for our friends & family to know — those whose minds are utterly closed by the deceit. I’ve given up, for the most part, but I’ve restackef this and will save to send to my brother.
Before, though we disagreed, I didn’t engage in pointless theological disputes about the “rapture”. But, since last October, I’ve really seen the diabolical fruit of this perverse teaching, disguised as Christianity, and how by design, it changed the church. Now, these apparently gentle Christians, with immense faith, have forsaken the FIRST THINGS of Jesus. They have supported the monstrous evils — and with prayer and righteous amens in God’s Holy name, thinking this is what being a follower of Christ is, thinking that this is what the Bible teaches and has always taught, thinking that they are doing what’s good and Godly. I’ve seen how this enormous and powerful blinding cult has replaced the Gospel of Grace with the gospel of war.
Ty... you brought tears to my eyes! I'm working on my next article and I feel it's my best and most important piece. But first I need you to know that God is totally guiding me...I mean every word. I believe God has amazing plans for his people and your description of the evil is totally aligned with mine. I liked your comment so much I read it too my husband and my voice broke because this is crucial stuff for humanity. Anyway God bless you for your support and encouragement! It means alot!
Deb, we must not be reading the same Bible. Your sorely supported opinion on the Rapture and other Biblical doctrines and theology are not only incorrect but heretical. I will pray that Holy Spirit removes the scales from your eyes so you may see the Truth of God’s Word
Please share your sources. I would like to examine this. I am a Reformed believer. As a relative latecomer to the faith, I’ve looked at various theologies within the Christian tradition, as weighed against scripture and, while all theological systems are flawed to some degree because of man’s sin, I found its teachings of the Gospel of Grace, God’s loving sovereignty in all things and its scriptural fidelity to embody the teaching most comporting with God’s word. Especially as codified in the Heidelberg Catechism. Some of the angel pin-dancing side offshoots and distortions posing as “Reformed”tho’— especially in the last 20 years — are dismissible. (I can cite examples if you wish).
But I’ve never heard the claims you mention of the Reformation’s occult roots! I’m into roots these past several years and have attempted to always dig deep and question and examine everything, seeking what is good and true wherever it leads. And much of what is written has surprised — sometimes in revelations and sometimes in spurious pretense to revelations.
So I’d like, with an open and discerning mind, to read your sources and apply this scrutiny to my own church’s history, doctrines & practice, but also to apply the same scrutiny to those sources that led you to your assertion.
Like never before, we must take a clear look at truth, wherever it is, and dig deep. However, unassailable Truth for me will always be God’s Word.
Interpretations can be fouled, even translations can be, but the Holy Spirit is active to lead. Discernment is a gift desperately needed now.
Seeing your sources will cut my reasearch time greatly. I will look into it and get back to you, if you are interested in my thoughts.
I realize I didn't do that before because I didn't know the app and still don't. I'd be happy to share...first though..I don't use Google I use Brave. James Perloff wrote alot about John Nelson darby and Cyrus Scoffield. And the book Victorious Eschatology is amazing at dissecting the Rapture theory, which is included in my next article I'm about to drop... which will contain my sources.
Hi Deb. I thought I was writing in response to the same post you were, Stephen Wellers: “Have you ever looked into the occult origins of protestanism itself? luther and the rosecrucians, calvin and socinius.” I have never heard this claim.
You and I are definitely on the same page — we had a wonderful exchange a few days ago! But it was very thoughtful of you to take the time to respond.
Btw, I really look forward to your new piece!
Blessings!
PS I have quite a stash in my notes of writings on this history, including Perloff’s I’m pretty sure. As well as good Bible exegesis & much dispensational selective mischief. I loved how your piece succinctly covers all the points which I think those brainwashed by the Disp. cult need to hear in order for the spell to be broken, because the Bible has been highjacked — They are inoculated againt seeing it through any other lens. So I hope knowing the origins can short-circuit their programmming enough to sink in & allow them to see scripture with the scales removed.

YES!!! So glad you are a wise Christian!

Thank you! Now you’re bringing tears to mine 😂
Our Lord’s richest blessings on you and your husband, Deb.
Your eschatology aligns too.
I very much look forward to reading your upcoming piece.

No I have not. I'm guided by God and really enjoying learning scriptures and their meaning.
